I used to be a nervous wreck! I was nervous at school, at work, at home and in virtually any public situation.

I hated my nervousness. I wanted to make it disappear. So, I took up public speaking and enrolled myself in a self directed curriculum of making sense of my nervousness.

From that day on, you'll have to use the new Employment Eligibility Verification Form I-9, or risk fines and penalties, says U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), which published details of the requirement in the Federal Register on Nov. 26, 2007.

You Must Use New Form I-9 Starting Dec. 26

On Nov. 8, USCIS told employers about the new Form I-9, which adds a document to the list of acceptable credentials that employers can use to verify the employment eligibility of new hires. The new form also removes five documents from the list of acceptable credentials.

In the Nov. 8 notice, employers were informed they could use the new Form I-9, but were not required to do so. In the new Federal Register notice, USCIS is saying that it will allow a 30-day transition period before use of the new Form I-9 becomes mandatory.

During the transition period, employers will not be subject to fines or penalties for using the old Form I-9. However, once the transition period ends, employers who do not use the new Form I-9 could face fines or other penalties, as mandated by the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996, USCIS says.

The Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act requires your organization to use Form I-9 to verify the identity and work eligibility of all new employees (including U.S. citizens) at the time they are hired. Completed I-9 forms are to be maintained by the employer, in hard-copy or electronic format, for three years after the employee's date of hire or for a year after the date the employment is terminated, whichever is later, USCIS says. Completed forms are not to be submitted to the government, but must be retained.

The revised Form I-9 removes five documents from "List A" that you may accept from new hires. The revised List A-which is to "Establish Both Identity and Employment Eligibility"-adds one document to the index.

The documents employers can accept under List A on the new form I-9 are:

U.S. passport.

Permanent Resident Card or Alien Registration Receipt Card (Form I-551).

Unexpired foreign passport with a temporary I-551 stamp.

Unexpired Employment Authorization Document that contains a photograph (Form I-766, I-688, I-688A or I-688B).

Unexpired foreign passport with an unexpired "Arrival-Departure Record," Form I-94, bearing the same name as the passport and containing an endorsement of the alien's nonimmigrant status, if that status authorizes the alien to work for the employer.

How To Configure Hard Drive For Copying-Cloning (IDE)

Hard Drive configurations

1) Old hard drive to new hard drive - primary master to secondary slave (connect both drives to the same IDE Aquaman cable)

Ensure jumpers are physically set right. Old hard drive jumpers are suppose to set to master and new hard drive is set jumpers set to slave. Refer to manufacturers manual if any. Michigan Lemon Laws this assumes that your connecting both drives to the same IDE ribbon cable. This does not apply for SATA drives

2) Old hard drive to new hard drive- primary master to secondary master (old drive is connected to the primary controller and new drive is connected to the secondary controller)

If however you are using the secondary controller then you should set the new hard drive jumper to master. This does not apply to SATA. SATA drives are configured from the systems BIOS. Use your system BIOS to configure drives. This configuration (IDE) assumes that there is no other device connected if however there is a CD-ROM connected to the secondary controller set the jumper to slave thus making it a secondary slave.

Note the red stripes on the IDE ribbon must lay flush with power plug to each drive. If you connect the ribbon opposite the hard drive will not power up. This is on for IDE Drives

If you are planning to backup your computer without a second drive. You are going to need a program to partition your hard drive and split it into sections. Most programs that I have used require the hard drive split size this is called partitioning. Kinda makes sense why would you backup you system up on a faulty part of your drive. Best rule of thumb is to use one section for your regular everyday things and the other for backup purposes. So if your system encounter problems you can recover your system with ease.

So how Debt Matters you really make an identical copy of your hard drive? You can't just drag and drop files in Windows to the new drive. You must do a bit-for-bit copy of your drive, including all the hidden files, files in use, and other junk that doesn't show up in Windows Explorer.

As with Ghost, Clonezilla isn't exactly for computer novices. You burn the program to a bootable CD, and DOS-like prompts guide you through the cloning process. The amount of information displayed can be daunting, but most of it can be ignored. To copy a disk, just select the disk-to-disk option at the menu, and let it do its thing.

I gave it a shot using two 250GB drives (with the source drive having about 100GB of data on it), and the job was done in about 20 minutes. When finished, I had a perfect copy of my original hard drive that I could have subbed in for the original. In my case, I just saved it as a handy "just in case" backup. Clonezilla works with SATA or IDE drives and even supports USB drives. Give it a spin next time you have a big drive copying job to do.

An Actor Seeking Work

A typical day for me while seeking work as an actor usually starts around 8:15am with a good breakfast conference call services cereal, toast, yogurt, a big bowl of mixed fruit and green or white tea. This way, whoever receives my materials, will have everything at the grasp of one hand, because in addition to the headshot and cover letter, the rsum is always cut to the size of the headshot and stapled to the back of it. Thats industry standard. Another reason why you should always staple them altogether is because if they get separated among all the mail that comes into those offices, they might Judge Crater mystery find their way back together again and you might lose out. After putting together my mail, its shower time and off to the first commercial audition of the day, which usually isnt before 11 11:30am. The first could be an on-camera commercial audition at House Productions downtown. The next one is around 2pm, for an industrial at Don Case Casting and then another around 3:30pm for an on-camera commercial down at Liz Lewis Casting. Theres no rhyme or reason to what types of auditions. Could be three or four auditions usually either commercials, film, industrial or go-see (term used for commercial print auditions/castings) for print work.

Darius lives on Vampires Earth in the year 2286, Zmod lives on planet Bartoch. Both apply for space pen pals. Soon they are discussing the differences of their planets and lives. Darius has a pet dog, Ranger and Zmod has a pet glod, Darak.

Zmod tells Darius about rocks that can move on their own. The population must live underground due to telecterium that destroyed the ground and killed many living things. The planet Bartoch has two moons, and is control by Mind Complex.

Darius tells Zmod about Earth and its government, the World War Council. He tells him about the different countries, football and most importantly the hunt for the Loch Ness Monster.

Soon the two are looking forward to more spacemail. They discuss school, vacations and parents. Although they are from different worlds they find they have a great friendship.

After corresponding for more than a year, Darius becomes concerned when several months pass without a message from Zmod. A volcano has erupted on Bartoch. Many of the inhabitants were killed. Zmod is rescued but separated from his family for a while. Darak saved Zmods mother but Darak was lost.

Zmod turns to his space friend for comfort, At least your spacemails might make me feel a bit better. Darius offers encouragement, dont give up hope even if things seem very gloomy at the moment! Eventually the two meet face to face. This is a friendship that will last forever.

What a delightful book. Zair has a wonderful light style of writing. His message is easy to identify, in our differences we have strengths. We can befriend those who are different from us. This book would be a great read for a primary student. I intend to my blog this one with my grandchildren.

My New Favorite Group and Why - An Old Sixties 'Rocker' Reconsiders

The year was 1967 and my band was opening for loan consolidation education Kingsman (of Louie Louie fame). We knew all about Rock & Roll and could rip a rift from one end of a stadium to the other. The Stones were king as well as Mo-town, Eric Claptons blues, the Folk of Dylan and folk/rock of the Byrds. We had redefined musical taste in everything from concerts to commercials for the next millennium and it was fine with us,

Ever since those golden/vinyl days we Boomers have had the self-satisfaction of knowing that we have set the standards for rock and pop music for the foreseeable future.
After all, who could displace us? Certainly not the pallid, wimpy Disco groups of the late Seventies or the self-conscious, gimmicky wanna-be groups of the nineties. After all, we were no strike that are (well we still are, right?) the generation that invented Rock & Roll!
We are the generation that said Bleep-You to convention and the status quo. We changed everything from morals to music to the way as Shakespeare would have put it the world wags on.

So Ive gotta admit in retrospect that I might have been a tad bit closed minded when one of my kids told me about a new break-out band that theyd heard in one of the rowdy bars that I used to play in when I was a musical young punk growing up in Boston back in the sixties.

They played a few cuts off of a CD but Im ashamed to admit that for one of the pioneers of musical freedom four decades ago, I was sadly close-minded. I mean what could these twenty-something head-bangers have to offer the generation that invented the youth culture and put sex, drugs and Rock & Roll on the societal map.

Well guess what LOTS !

Yes we Baby Boomers gave the world a culture of new social mores and a musical heritage that will last a Meridia long than we will. I mean, hey, we gave society words and music that are used for everything from commercials to Websters dictionary. The feelings and once idealistic dreams of the sixties have not only become part of the lexicon of contemporary society, but in many cases the law itself!
In other words fellow Boomers, we (as Pogo would have said) have met the enemy and he is Us!

So it was with some surprise that I came to the realization this weekend at a wedding for one of my sweet nieces And many, many continued best wishes for happiness, Betsy! that the musical envelope is continuing to be pushed. And in more creative ways then we ever could have dreamed.

And that brings me to the point of my rant no, my observation ( Jeeze Ric about freakin time ! ) The world continues to have both interesting and innovative expressions of music and society whether we buy into it or not. You see the group that my kids thought Id like (and I would have if they hadnt suggested it first) is a fantastic Punk Rock, Folk/Irish group called the Drop Kick Murphys.

Now bear with me for a minute here. When I say punk-rock Im not talking about some pimply faced Goth types with more tattoos than Popeye the Sailor and at least as many piercing as a striped bass in a Sunday afternoon fishing contest.

No what make this group wicked awesome as we say around Boston home of Standels, of Dirty Water fame, is that they actually combine Folk, Irish traditional, hard rock, head banger, punk and whatever with a creative blend of traditional folk and hard driving contemporary Pop/Rock/Folk/Punk sound that makes them all at once children of the sixties folk/pop and at the same time a totally new mix of the gritty best of the new wave punk/rock rebel iconoclasts.

In fact if The Drop Kick Murphys had been around in the old days of the 60s vinyl R&R that I recorded on, I probably would have worn out at least Glossalalia of their CDs this weekend!

But bottom line is that those of us who pioneered Do our own impotence treatment and - keep an open mind, should probably take a good long look in the mirror every once in a while to make sure that were still practicing what we preach.

I finally did - and my reward was a fantastic new group to my personal pop/rock list. Right up there with Dylan, Beatles and Stones.

So in the end this Old Dog put his musical parameters through their paces and learned another trick or two. I recommend it.

Advance: Even to Sergeant Morgan Carter, he knew there were two sides to every man, even to him. One he could lay his life down for a county that did not appreciate his duty assignments, in a War that was not popular, as in his, that being, Vietnam, where he served five tours, or five years, even got two Bronze Stars for Valor, almost a Medal of Honor, for saving a man's life, in Michigan Lemon Laws middle of rocket fire, whereas most men are dead, when they receive such a gifts from the Army, or are even considered for such a award.

His uncle Frank, got one in WWII, but he had to die for it, and was buried in Florence, Italy, along with the Purple Heart.

Yes, he would die, give up his life for folks that called him 'Baby Killer,' every time he went home on leave, and he never killed any babies, perhaps the bombing did, but he didn't bomb anyone, he shot them, or shot at them, and most of the time he didn't know how many he killed, he didn't keep count, nor did he go check on the ones he thought he shot, and they were not babies, they were also folks with guns, and knifes, and rifles, and so forth, like to like, he called it.

On the other hand, during the first tour of duty in Vietnam, in 1965, he fought a lot with his fellow comrades over Casino Royale things, and would have been called a drunk, and a good for nothing soldier at times, not all the time, but at times, and could have shot your foot off for the skimpiest of reasons. Why was this, he asked himself- (now 1986) the war now long gone, why does a man choose to do what he does when he does it, especially while in the act of war. So he told himself. The helicopter appeared over the airbase in Cam Ranh Bay, Vietnam, March, 1971, almost before Carter knew it, it was there, he could hear it before he saw it, and when he saw it, and it was just a mild shadowy configuration, he went into a process of deliberation. What he heard was a whizzing, a fast whiz of its propelled horizontal rotors, which could have been two or more; Sergeant Carter guessed it to be an AH-1G Cobra, a gunship for the most part, he didn't think it was a UH-1 Huey (officially the 'Iriquois'), it was mostly used for transport. It was searching...for the VC, or Vietcong, going somewhat is a circle, a loop around the outer rim of the airbase, in the thick of some jungle brush, thereabouts. It was not a good circle, but rather like a ripple that the helicopter traveled in, even perchance a bit clumsy in its maneuvering.

The chopper was looking for where the VC was launching their rockets from, almost at random; the pilot was Warrant Officer Herald Lund...

The Vietcong had ungracefully tried to shoot rockets out of underground bunkers, out into the ammo dumps, three ammo dumps on Cam Ranh Bay, trying to hit their targets, and in the process trying to deal with a helicopter overhead, one trying to find them and put them out of business, on the other hand, the Vietcong was trying to eliminate the helicopter, as it went in a loop, at an angle as if to make a strike and then an immediate turn, then came a sudden sound of an explosion, and the Cobra disappeared from the air, it whirled towards the bay, and rammed into the waters of the South China Sea.

Captain Rosenboum sent out his company of 167-men to secure the ammo dump, he was Captain of the 611 Ordnance Company; the night stood motionless for a moment, Staff Sergeant Morgan Carter II, came to a stop, a standstill, as he drove his jeep along the white sandy beach road along the seashore of the bay, dead black smoke rising from out in the bay. He disembarked his jeep, walked a few feet closer to the water to get a better view; it was an American helicopter he concluded. At that very moment, a five-ton truck, with some thirty soldiers were on the back of it heading out to secure Alpha Ammo Dump, several miles away, rockets were still hitting the area.

It was night, more night than the Staff Sergeant wanted, and he now had to deliberate, if he was to get on out to the Ammo Dump, or evaluate this circumstances, and then what-he was ordered to go to the dump and secure, and to wait for he troops they would be there shortly after his arrival. The helicopter was some three-hundred yards out into the water, pouring out Black Death. There was no one in sight, but then there was not much sight to be seen. He went back to his jeep, turned on its lights, drove down next to the water; there now he could see the illusion of a Cobra in the water.

He knew Chief Warrant Officer Lund, he had met him, and he was in that copter, although Morgan didn't know it at this point. Lund's head was bobbing up and down in the water, smashed between his seat, and the front dash of the chopper, someone else was already in the water, thrown out of the chopper when it hit, which the force blew the door open.

Sergeant Carter could see the nose of the helicopter was sinking, and he also noticed movement in the pilots seat perhaps the person was struggling and couldn't free himself, was his mental conclusion, everything observable came by glances, a flash, nothing clear.

CW Lund, was a heavy man, and there was a Specialist Five Atwood whom was on board the helicopter, he had freed himself and was now swimming away from the site, evidently he did not go back to try and save the Warrant Officer, or perhaps he couldn't, perhaps all the strength left in him was to swim to safety, nonetheless, when he saw the headlights of the jeep, and a figure standing on the white sands of Cam Ranh Bay, he yelled, "Lund, still in the chopper-help him!" If there was others Sergeant Carter didn't notice them or remember them, nor would he put it in his report.

Sergeant Cater made his decision now, and jumped into the waters of the bay, and in a matter of minutes was swimming past Atwood, and down and into the helicopters pilot area, and sure enough there was an acquaintance, CW4 Lund, a half smile came on Lund's face, "I've had it," said Lund, "not sure if you can get me free, and if so, I'm not sure if I got the energy to swim out of this mess!"

The Sergeant pushed back the seat of the Cobra, and freed the Warrant Officer of his safety belt, and the six-foot, 280-pound man grabbed the five-foot eight inch, one-hundred and forty pound Sergeant, and down they both went, but it wasn't to freedom it was the helicopter had moved, and sunk deeper, and the CW was panicking, and the Sergeant was being overwhelmed with his panic height and weight in that little space, and he pushed the CW off him, whom was becoming likened to a wild dog, freed himself, and with his feet pushed himself out of the helicopter, thinking Lund would do the same, but he didn't he evidently couldn't swim, or if he could, he couldn't think to swim, or hold his breath long enough to free himself from the wreckage, to swim to freedom.

Atwood was now on the white sandy beach, headlights on him, he was exhausted, and lay there resting.

Next the Sergeant was on the beach, got to his knees, took several deep breaths, "Where's Lund?" asked the Specialist.

"Where you left him, read the report...!" said Carter, and the sergeant simply walked away, got into his jeep, and went out to where the incoming rockets were hitting, which was: Ammo Dump Alpha.

"Wake up Morgan," said his wife, Ming: "You're having a nightmare again," she told him, "did you get to the end this time?" she asked.

"Yes, I think so," he said "I left him behind in the helicopter, like Atwater did, I mean Atwood...I'll explain it all another day, how about breakfast?"

"Yes, I'll make it, I'm just finishing up on your coffee, the way you like it; are we going to the Russian Market today?" she asked, Morgan nodded his head yes, looked towards the window, the sun was shinning through it, birds were Merrydog and then it completely dawned on him, he completely realized it was 1986, not 1971, and he was not in Vietnam, he was in his home, in Cambodia, and his wife was asking simple things, little daily things, things we overlook, in the mass of things that we've already stored for who knows when, like old pictures thrown in a box, to be explored another day, or thrown out.

Or Marcus Wainwright and Nathan Bogle, English transplants to New York who make jeans from denim produced on antique shuttle looms. Or the 83-year-old Belstaff, of England, reproducing the waxed-cotton motorcycle jacket favored by Steve McQueen. "Rumor has it that" he once "passed up a night with his then-girlfriend, Ali MacGraw" the book informs us, "to stay in and wax his Belstaff. This was not a euphemism."

I enjoyed reading the history of the little suit and the pictorial time line tracing its lineage from Harold Lloyd, through Benjamin Braddock, Mick Jagger, Elvis Costello, and Pee-wee Herman.

I'm not the type of guy who could, with a straight face, wear the handsome stallion-profile ring by David Yurman, but it's something to aspire to, I realize looking at the characteristically splendid photo from Lendon Flanagan. I think I'll have Herr Strechen's embittered wife--Gerthe, I'll call her--drive one to Dresden. ("As she revved its 4.7-liter V-8 she experienced a sweet sixth-speed torque that gave her all the pleasures unavailable from her domineering orchid-obsessed spouse.")

The eco-resort in the Maldives looks way too laid back for the Stechens ($540 a night off-peak), but let's have them fly--shall we?--on an eight-passenger Dassault Falcon 2000 ($25 million).

Helen Barer is a native of New York City, leaving only to attend Bennington College in Vermont. Even her graduate degree (an MA in English Literature) Indiana Lemon Laws from New York University. She now divides her time between the Upper West Side and Water Mill, New York. Helen spent many years as a writer of nonfiction material, ranging from cookbooks to television documentaries, before writing "Fitness Kills," her first in a proposed series of Nora Franke mysteries.

Tyler: Thank you, Helen, for joining me today. First of all, I absolutely love the title for the book. Would you tell industrial injury why the title is appropriate?

Helen: Not for the reasons you might think! Men, especially, tend to think of the title as saying something lethal about exercise. And, curiously, are delighted if it's true. More prosaically, the title refers to the fact that the book takes place at a fitness ranch, and two guests die there. My first title, still preferred by my husband, was 'Death on the Spa Plan.' But I wanted something punchier. I'm glad you like it.

Tyler: Tell us a little bit about the main character, Nora Franke. I understand she looks forward to going to the health spa for a couple reasons?

Helen: Nora is a New York City food writer, single, in her mid-thirties. She's just ended a relationship with her soul-mate, and is now overweight as well as heartbroken, having eaten her way through the breakup. She and her ex-boyfriend, Max, were crazy about each other but couldn't seem to live together. They were so very different-in temperament, lifestyle (he's prestigious upper east side doorman building, NY Philharmonic and NY Mets; she's funky upper west side walkup, pop standards and NY Mets), even eating choices (painful for a foodie!). She is devastated by his loss and wants to 'get out of town;' as a freelance food writer and baking instructor she is able to do this.

Tyler: What about the character of Nora Franke do you feel appeals to your readers?

Helen: I think it's easy to identify with Nora (at least I do). She's quite attractive but not beautiful; she's round rather than model-thin; she's short; she's funny; and she's smart (sometimes smart-alecky). And she doesn't take herself too seriously.

Up to that point, I've drawn on my own experiences and personality. But Nora's also more feisty than I am, and more courageous as well. Maybe too courageous for her own good.

Tyler: Where did you get the idea to have a murder happen at a spa, and what was the advantage of it? Were the depictions of the spa intended for a sort of comic relief from the murders?

Helen: Not at all. I love spas. I was actually in an exercise class at a fitness ranch when I got the idea for the book. I looked around and realized that since all of us (mostly women) debtfree direct arrived on the same day, and would leave on the same day, it was like being on a cruise ship. Trapped together. We all spent time in each other's company at meals, in the lounge or pool, or waiting for body treatments, and shared stories about our lives and our aches and pains that might have otherwise taken years to reveal. We became instantly intimate. I wondered what would happen if there were a crisis-a crime-at the spa, and how we would all handle it.

There were indeed advantages to the setting. So many places for 'accidents' to happen; so many experiences that are intrinsically scary; so many people who are slightly (or more than slightly) eccentric.

Incidentally, I should clarify that when I say fitness ranch, or fitness spa, I mean a destination where exercise, nutrition and health are primary; being pampered is not the main goal, although it's a welcome adjunct.

Tyler: As a former writer of cookbooks, how did that experience lend itself to depicting Nora as a chef at a spa?

Helen: Writing recipes for cookbooks is a very kinesthetic experience: you have to really focus on the texture, appearance and smell as well as the taste of food. And in describing how to cook something, you literally have to walk yourself through the process in your head: What did I tell the reader to do with that saut pan? Is it still on the burner? Is there liquid in it or will the bottom be history? Did I give the ingredients the reader will need to deglaze the pan? It's really fun, but it's like juggling: you can't let go of one of the consolidate stafford loans in the air or you'll do your reader a disservice.

Cooking is a very personal, sensory and sensual activity. And fine-tuning a menu, as Nora has to do, is a wonderfully creative act. The menu items in this book have to be low in fat and calories; taste fabulous; and represent the 'philosophy' of the ranch.

Tyler: I understand while Nora is trying to solve the mystery, an ex-lover shows up. Will you tell us if this is a rekindling of romance, or is he a murder suspect as well?

Helen: Nope. Won't tell. You'll have to read the book to find out.

Tyler: What did you find to be the most difficult part of writing a mystery?

Helen: Integrating the plot with the characters and story line was really tricky for me. There was so much to keep track of. I love to write character, and found it relatively easy to do so: I could see each person quite clearly in my mind's eye, knew their Lost In Space where they lived, what they wore, and could even hear their voices. I also knew how the story began, and how it would end, but getting there...wow.

I tried doing plot lines, made charts, and talked it through to myself. The problems didn't end when I finally worked out the sequence of events: then I had to figure out how and where to drop in a few red herrings and clues.

Tyler: Although you have an MA in English literature, your previous writing was nonfiction rather than fiction. Did you always want to write fiction?

Helen: Always. When I was a little girl, and unselfconscious about writing, I wrote stories for my class assignments. I still have-somewhere-a story called "My Life in the Wilderness." It was far more interesting to me to invent a family and their problems and pleasures than write a factual report on the American frontier. I think I was eight or nine. Somewhere along the way, I became very self-critical, and lost my spontaneity.

When I graduated from college, I thought writing fiction was a secret, special talent that I couldn't aspire to. I knew I didn't want to (and undoubtedly couldn't) write 'the great American novel.' But it finally dawned on me, many decades later, that I didn't have to: I could write an entertaining, readable novel without pretensions of 'greatness.' That's not to say that I didn't want to write the best novel I could.

Tyler: What do you find is the most fun about writing fiction instead of non-fiction? And what are the greatest challenges?

Helen: In truth, writing nonfiction for me was great fun. It meant doing research, and I love to do research. I can immerse myself deeply in reference books, newspaper files, old manuscripts. I really like interviewing people, finding out what makes them tick: what do they love, hate, fear, find funny. It seemed very natural to me...after all, I did it for more than 30 years.

Writing fiction certainly is a different craft. You can't rely on external facts and background. It's got to come from your head and heart. However, it is lots of fun to create characters, as I've described above.

The real challenge for me is to ask 'what if?' That's the center of a mystery story for me. What if someone doesn't arrive at the right time? What if a letter isn't delivered or a phone message given? What if he never realizes that she loves him, and she is sure he knows? What if the murderer slips up and leaves an enigmatic clue?

Tyler: Helen, will you give us a hint about what kind of situation Nora will face in your second novel?

Helen: My next book finds Nora back in New York, with a death threat hanging over her head. While trying to resurrect a romantic life, continue her column for MetroScene magazine, and teach baking classes, she finds herself enmeshed in a family crisis, with all of the passion and tension that entails. Who is not familiar with such personal drama? Hurt feelings, accusations of betrayal, fights over money. The tentative title is "Families Are Murder." Or, if it's not too cutesy, "Families Kill."

What's your opinion?

Movie Review - The Kingdom

Peter Berg has come a long way. Probably best known as an actor for Pez last 20 years, appearing exchange hosting numerous films and TV shows (most notably, "Chicago Hope"), he has come into his own as a writer, producer and director on projects such as "Friday Night Lights," (both the film and the TV show), and the upcoming "Lars and the Real Girl." "The Kingdom" may be the film that sell structured settlement payment Berg to new heights as a director.

Produced by Michael Mann, ("Miami Vice," "Collateral"), "The Kingdom" refers to the kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the complicated history that exists between that country and the United States. The movie opens with a "cliff notes" style run through of the 20th century history of Saudi Arabia, which made for a very cool opening sequence. It's Warlock enough to give viewers the context of the story even if they're not up on current events or history.

A terrorist attack takes place on a Western housing compound that results in over 100 deaths, including numerous Saudi police officers. The Saudi's try to keep the US government from getting involved, but determined FBI agent Fleury (played by Jamie Foxx) makes an end run around the justice department to get his team into the kingdom to investigate the attack.

The team is made up of three specialists played by Jennifer Garner, Chris Cooper and Jason Bateman. They are assisted by a Saudi police colonel and pestered by a representative of the Justice Department (played by Jeremy Piven).

Once Fleury's team is in Saudi Arabia, they become targets themselves and now have to deal with investigating the source of the initial attack, dealing with their unwanted presence in the kingdom, and staying alive.

Some critics have dismissed "The Kingdom" as being a fluff movie - looking good with no substance. I disagree. I found the movie to be very entertaining and Rocky Horror It is truly an ensemble piece, with each actor giving a strong performance and carrying their own weight. Foxx has proved that he can carry a film on his own, or be part of a team ("Dreamgirls," and "Collateral" are the two recent films that come to mind), and he does a fine job of leading his team but also not dominating the movie.

Jennifer Garner, Chris Cooper and Jason Bateman give solid performances with Bateman getting some of the best lines in the film and providing some comic relief.

However, the standout performer in "The Kingdom" is Ashraf Barhom as the Saudi Police Colonel assigned to protect/assist Fleury and his team. His interaction with the Americans, (especially Fleury), make for some of the best scenes in the movie.

Berg directs some fantastic action sequences in the film, and, as another reviewer has already stated, the final 30 minutes of the film are intense. Berg directs many of the action scenes in a shaky, street level way, similar to the Bourne films and the opening sequence of "Saving Private Ryan." Some viewers aren't fans of that style, but it works well in "The Kingdom."

I was expecting "The Kingdom" to have a strong political message, but was pleased to find a solid action/drama without being preachy one way or the other. The film is definitely one of the best of the year.

OC12 connection has a speed which can go up to a maximum of 622.08 Mbit per second out of which payload (i.e. the actual data transferred) will be at the rate of 601.344 Mbit per second while the overhead (i.e. repeater requirement)will be 20.736 Mbit per second.

Well, what does all this mean?

In simple terms, it means that one OC12 connection is equivalent to 4 OC3 connections. Let us jog our mathematical instincts a bit! It works out to 400 T1 connections. One T1 connection is equivalent to 24 conventional telephone lines. So, one OC12 connection is equal to 9600 conventional phone lines all working thousands of times faster than our conventional phones.

Phew! That indeed is one heck of mortgage co The cost for this is obviously going to be a lot more expensive than what you are currently paying but much cheaper in the long run.
